Daily games like Wordle, but not words

If you like the daily ritual more than the spelling, these swap the five-letter word for something else. Most take two to five minutes, and all of them let you share your result without spoiling the answer.

1. Uniko — Ten questions a day, each with many right answers, but one of them is secretly forbidden. Say it and you're out. 20 seconds per answer, free in the browser, no account needed.
2. Worldle — Guess the country from its outline; every wrong guess tells you the distance and direction to the answer.
3. Globle — Name any country and it lights up on the globe in a warmer colour the closer it is to the mystery country.
4. Travle — You get a start and an end country; name the countries in between to connect them in as few guesses as possible.
5. Tradle — Guess the country from a chart of its exports, from the Observatory of Economic Complexity.
6. Flagle — The flag is revealed piece by piece as you guess.
7. Framed — Guess the movie from a single frame; each wrong answer reveals another one.
8. Spotle — Guess the artist; each guess compares genre, debut year, popularity and more with the answer.
9. Bandle — The song starts with a single instrument; every guess adds another one to the mix.
10. TimeGuessr — Place each photo on a map and a timeline; points for how close you get to both.
11. Chronophoto — Pick the year for a series of historical photos.
12. Costcodle — Higher-or-lower hints steer you towards the exact price.
13. Nerdle — Wordle's colour clues, but for digits and operators in an equation.
14. Angle — Guess the angle in degrees; hints tell you to go higher or lower.

1. Connections — Sort 16 words into four groups of four; you can make only four mistakes.
2. Strands — Find the words that fit the day's theme, including one 'spangram' that crosses the board.
3. Quordle — Solve four five-letter words at the same time with nine guesses.
4. Octordle — Eight words, thirteen guesses; every guess counts on every board.
5. Waffle — The letters are all there but scrambled; swap them back into place in 15 moves or fewer.

What makes a game “like Wordle”?

Wordle took off because of a few rules that most of the games above copy on purpose:

• One puzzle a day, the same for everyone. You can't binge it, and you can compare with anyone.
• A few minutes to play. Short enough for a coffee break.
• Feedback on every guess. Colours, distances or rankings that teach you something.
• A shareable result with no spoilers. The emoji grid is half the fun.

Where Uniko is different

In most daily games there is one right answer and you try to find it. Uniko flips that: each of its ten questions (“Name a US state”, “Name a chemical element”) has many right answers, and the game secretly forbids one of them. It's a trivia game where the obvious answer can be the dangerous one. The answer lists are built from Wikipedia and Wikidata and reviewed by hand, and you can play without an account.
